The collective agreement between the Winnipeg School Division and the WTA governs the terms and conditions of employment in the division. It exists to define the duties and protect the rights and privileges of employees and employers. b) If teachers are absent to observe religious holidays that last more than three (3) days per school year, a teacher may receive a regular salary less the rate of a substitute in the teacher`s salary classification. c) The Parties will attempt to reach an agreement before an appointment is made under this Agreement, but if the Department, in its sole discretion, considers it urgent to make an appointment prior to the conclusion of negotiations, the Department may do so on the terms it proposes and the personal vacation day will be used in full. Personal leave may accrue from one school year to the next up to a maximum of two (2) days (three (3) days from February 23, 2016). Part-time teachers who have a contract under Plans C or D are entitled to a day off for personal reasons, in proportion to full-time equivalents. The days of personal vacation to which a part-time teacher is entitled are prorated on the basis of full-time equivalence, for the sake of clarity, a teacher is entitled to half of a full-time equivalent day (x2). Department heads/team leaders are appointed by the department after consultation with the principals of the schools concerned. Except in the event of an emergency or similar unforeseen circumstances, each full-time teacher is entitled to an uninterrupted meal of fifty-five (55) minutes between 11:00.m and 14:00.m.m. .m.m a day, unless the majority of the teachers of a particular school and the responsible administration of that school agree otherwise with regard to lunchtime. (i) Principals and vice-principals who are reclassified to a lower classification must maintain the salary level of the previous classification of the school for a period of two (2) school years. During this period, the individual and the department would endeavour to reassign to a position at the same classification level or at a classification level higher than that of the incumbent`s current classification. If no reassignment has taken place at the end of the two (2) year period, the salary level of the incumbent company will remain constant until the wage level of the new classification is reached. 11. Before leaving school at the end of the day, teachers are responsible for ensuring that all children under their supervision are expelled. Number of equivalent full days taught during the school year The only matters that may be regretted by a substitute teacher or the association on behalf of a substitute teacher under the article on dispute settlement are the provisions of this article and the substantive rights and obligations of the labour and human rights laws, to the extent that they are included in this collective agreement. For the purposes of this clause, a teacher is deemed to have completed a full year of service if he or she has taught full-time or part-time under a single fixed-term teaching agreement from the first day of instruction in one fall semester to the last day of instruction in the following spring semester. Within the organizational structure of the school approved by the principal, the principal may grant leave to one or more persons who contribute to improving the curriculum and organization of the school.

6 If the teacher has taught for the Ministry for two full consecutive years under this form of agreement (time-limited teacher – Winnipeg School Division) and accepts teaching employment for the division for a third consecutive full year, transfers may be made on the initiative of the Superintendent or other administrative officer or at the request of a teacher and for any purpose the one according to the superintendent`s judgment, is the best for the well-being of the teacher or school. iii) In the case of the promotion of a principal or vice-principal from one (1) classification to another or the upgrading of a school, an increase in promotion is paid unless it is limited by the maximum amount of the new classification. .
